The upcoming "Arrow" Season 5 episode 15 might feature the end of Oliver's (Stephen Amell) political career as mayor of Star City. Latest spoiler news teased of the said character's impeachment battle coupled with Prometheus' efforts to kill the Green Arrow (Amell).
"Arrow" Season 5 episode 14 ended with the shocking news of Oliver's potential impeachment. Aired on Feb. 22, the said episode featured the leaked details of how the mayor's office kept silent about the Green Arrow's involvement in Billy Malone's (Tyler Ritter) death.
In the upcoming episode titled "Fighting Fire with Fire," Oliver will have no choice but to face the cover-up allegations that could potentially lead to his removal as Star City's mayor. The impeachment case will serve as the said character's biggest challenge as the city's leader, according to episode spoilers posted on Spoilers Guide.
It seems that the mysterious Prometheus might have a hand in leaking details of Malone's death to the press. Getting Oliver off his seat of power and exposing his secret identity as the Green Arrow appears to be part of the said villain's plans to defeating Star City's vigilante-hero.
Viewers can also expect to see a tense encounter between Oliver and Prometheus in the upcoming "Arrow" Season 5 episode 15. A promo clip posted on the same website teased of the villain's surprise road attack that had Oliver's car hitting a parked taxi that sent it several feet off the ground in an explosive flip.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with ScreenerTV, "Arrow" showrunner Wendy Mericle shared their inspiration for Oliver's mysterious enemy Prometheus. Given how the said villain is very different from the character depicted in the comic books, Mericle commented that they looked at the antagonists from several films such as "American Psycho," "The Usual Suspects," as well as "Seven."
The executive producer even cited the iconic villain Hannibal Lecter as one of their inspirations when they created the "Arrow" character Prometheus. Mericle added, "We talked a lot about those types of villains ... because we were looking for something different to do in Season 5, a way to change it up and make it different."
