Three years after directing "Mai Ratima," Yoo Ji Tae joined the cast of "The Good Wife," the South Korean remake of the CBS series of the same name. Recently, he was recognized for his performance in the tvN series.
Yoo was chosen as the Best Actor at the 2017 Korea Cable TV Awards. The awards ceremony was held at the COEX auditorium in Seoul, South Korea on March 10, Friday, Soompi reported.
In "The Good Wife," Yoo played a prosecutor named Lee Tae Joon. Joining him in the main cast were Jeon Do Yeon as a newly hired lawyer and Tae Joon's wife named Kim Hye Kung and Yoon Kye Sang as Hye Kung's friend named Seo Joong Won.
The original American version aired on CBS from Sept. 22, 2009 to May 8, 2016. It starred Julianna Margulies, Matt Czuchry, Graham Phillips, Makenzie Vega and Christine Baranski.
Among the TV networks, tvN was the big winner at the 2017 Korea Cable TV Awards, as well. Aside from "The Good Wife," tvN series "Goblin," "Problematic Men" and "Another Oh Hae Young" also won awards.
tvN is set to release its first sci-fi drama series. Kim Kang Woo and Yeo Jin Goo will star in the new drama series titled "Circle," which is set both in present-day Korea and in 2037, Korea Herald reported.
People behind "Goblin" rejoiced as the TV series, which aired on tvN from Dec. 2, 2016 to Jan. 21, won the Daesang or Drama Grand Prize and the same category in the Cable VOD (Video on Demand) Grand Prize Awards.
"Goblin" won two more awards in the Cable Star Awards. K-Pop boy band BtoB member Yook Sung Jae, who is professionally known as Sungjae, won the Rising Star, Acting award while Amy Lee, who is professionally known as Ailee, received an award for singing "I Will Go to You Like the First Snow" as OST of the series.
