In a recent podcast interview, Nick Cannon shared his brief romance with Kim Kardashian. It was at the same time her sex tape with Ray J went public.
Nick and Kim were an icon back in 2006 to 2007. The podcast where Nick poured his feelings about the subject was in an interview on the Drink Champs podcast. The time that the couple was getting "serious" was the time the scandal came out.
Nick confessed on the podcast that he really caught feelings for Kim and later admitted that Kim "broke his heart." He also said that Kim lied to him about the video, which was filmed back in 2002 but released in 2007.
When the rumors about the tape coming out and Nick was starting to question Kim, she always denied it.
Nick went on and recalled the time the couple ran into Ray J while walking on the street. Of course, it was before the video came out. And as he looked back into it, Nick was warned by Ray J about what was about to come.
Nick said that he was holding Kim's hand, and Ray J shouted across the street, saying that Nick wouldn't want to hold her hand soon. Of course, Nick just shrugged it off as he was thinking that Ray J was just being spiteful, but wondered why he said that.
Just shortly after the chance encounter, the tape came out, and right after, Nick and Kim ceased to be an icon. Nick and his friends said "abort mission" when it came out.
He also shared a similar story in 2012 on The Howard Stern Show when he said that the pair broke it off because Kim lied about it.
Meanwhile, Kim told Complex in 2007 that she wasn't even that serious with Nick as he was making it out to be.
Kim has been in a few relationships after the tape went out and the immediate break from Nick Cannon. She got into a relationship with Reggie Bush shortly after. Then went on and married Kris Humphries in 2011, but after 72 days, she filed for a divorce. Her most recent romance and marriage came from singer Kanye West where the two married in 2014.
Kim and Kanye called it quits in February and have four kids together but have stayed on good terms after the split as co-parents.
