The highly anticipated song "SG", a collaboration between artists Lisa, Ozuna, DJ Snake, and Megan Thee Stallion, is finally here, and it has been worth the wait for the individual fandoms of each of the artists.
The song, which is short for Sexy Girl, is K-pop superstar Lisa's first solo collaboration. The singer, who is a member of the South-Korean girls' group BLACKPINK, is credited to have contributed to composing and writing the track.
The music video, which starts with Ozuna's Spanish lines, is filmed with stunning visuals in the background, where the Latin superstar is seen vibing with DJ Snake in a neon-lit club. The scene cuts to Megan Thee Stallion, who is seen in a sheer bodysuit, twerking in a shallow pool. Incidentally, Megan Thee Stallion has also dabbled in the K-pop genre recently, by collaborating with iconic K-pop stars BTS for a remix of the band's award-winning single "Butter".
Lisa, dressed in a shimmering outfit, is picturized in the "SG" music video dancing with a bevy of dancers moving to the rhythmic beats of the music. The K-pop star steals the spotlight with her dance break during the beat drop.
The sultry music video has been directed by Colin Tilley, who is known for his work Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's "WAP" and in The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay", among many others. The MV generated more than 6 million views within five hours of its release on YouTube.
Fans were over the moon when Ozuna first revealed at the MTV VMAs in September this year that he was working on some music with Lisa, Megan Thee Stallion, and DJ Snake. Fans dubbed the song SOLM, after the initials of all four artists.
"SG" has been released a month after Lisa's solo album "LALISA" came out, featuring two tracks "LALISA" and "MONEY". The music video for "LALISA" broke the Guinness World Records for most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a solo K-pop artist and most-viewed YouTube music video by a solo artist in 24 hours.
Now Lisa continues on her path to international stardom with the success of "SG", a song in which she belts out her own lyrics in English. Lisa is also a first-time solo nominee at the upcoming 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards.
