K-pop boys' band Seventeen attended a press conference today just before the release of their 9th mini-album "Attacca". The album dropped worldwide at midnight EST on October 22.
The attendance at the press conference marks the group's first-ever promotional event as an 11-member team, instead of 13. Band members The8 and Jun are going to focus the rest of their activities for 2021 in China.
Seventeen's Seungkwan said that the group has always been a 13-member one since they debuted, so it is natural to feel the absence of the two members. He added that since all the 12 members would spend a lot of time together in daily lives, just not during promotional activities, the group is missing The8 and Jun a lot.
Seungkwan further stated that the band has completed a pre-recorded performance, for which the two absentee members have given feedback after watching. The missing duo said that the rest of the group had filled the empty spots well and they felt grateful.
Meanwhile, the remaining 11 members are keeping in touch with Theo8 and Jun, and the latter two are also putting in hard work in the overseas promotions. For now, all the members plan on doing their best.
Another band member Wonwoo shared that the remaining 11-member-band is also curious about how the whole thing will turn out as this is the first time they are promoting without the other two.
Before leaving, The8 and Jun used to film a lot of content such as dance performances. Seventeen, however, feels that they have put in a lot of preparation so that fans will not have to chance to miss the two singers.
Lastly, Mingyu from the band said that they all miss The8 and Jun but decided to put forward their respective bests to keep fighting.
Meanwhile, the group has dropped their comeback music video for the song "Rock With You" from the album. The powerful rock genre track features dynamic electric and synth guitar sounds combined with a two-step rhythm. The song talks about the deeper level of love.
The music video for "Rock With You" shows a dreamy vibe that goes with the theme of romantic confession and also showcases the boys' synchronized choreography.
"Attacca" is the second installment in the 2021 "Power of Love" series that was launched earlier this year, with the song "Ready to Love". The comeback mini-album comprises seven new songs and is now available for streaming all over the world.
