Facebook has rolled out a new feature named "Scrapbook" that allows parents to organize the baby photos in one place and tag them.
The add-on feature is an ideal option parents who want to document their new born babies, toddlers and young children who are often featured in multiple photos in their parents' profile. However, overtime they get scattered into different albums which makes it tough to find. Scrapbook aims to solve this by allowing parents to create a personal album of their own and tag all their baby pictures to facilitate easy categorization. They can also choose to share the album with family, friends or close ones while hiding it from others who visit their profile, according to Mashable.
In Facebook, an individual had to tag their significant other in pictures that had their child in it. The feature not only allows them to create a scrapbook and tag the photos but also co-own the book along with their partner. Both of them will have control over the album and they can choose a tag, which could be their child's name or something funny to identify.
In order to create a scrapbook, users have to head to the About page and click on Family and Relationships. An invitation to create a scrapbook with a Get Started icon will be presented in this area. If a child is already part of the user's profile, they can continue by clicking on add scrapbook and proceed. Children under 13 years old cannot use this feature.
For the convenience of users, multiple guidelines, reminders and tutorials had been added to Facebook to make it easier to understand this integration, FB Newsroom stated.
The new feature on Facebook is available on desktop, Android and iOS devices.
