Last year, Apple's iPhone 6 was notoriously known for many things, and #bendgate was one of them. Now, Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge failed the SquareTrade's test and bend.
According to The Verge , Samsung was not too happy with the result of SquareTrade's Bend Test for their latest flagship smartphones. Watching the recent video posted by SquareTrade shows how badly the mobile device almost snapped under 110 pounds of force. This is nearly the same amount of force that led iPhone 6 Plus to bend.
As expected, Samsung did something to SquareTrade's test result in their own blog. In the post, the company mentioned about the force that it will take to make the phone be bent permanently and showed that not even 79lbf would be enough. That is the same force as trying to break 5 pencils all at once. 110lbf will be needed to bend the smartphone for good and according to Samsung, this is not something that happens under normal circumstances.
Aside from the obvious outcomes that Samsung was pointing out, the company also thinks that SquareTrade should have also performed the test on the other side of the phone since they only did it with the device facing up. Samsung even requested for a retest from SquareTrade, positively anticipating a better result and having it released to public.
All these boil down to two simple things. One is about the responsibility of the owner in taking proper care of a 5-inch mobile device and not sitting on it. The second is Samsung would be better off ignoring SquareTrade's test result since it doesn't even bear any significance to what anybody would call "normal use".
