Google recently released the affordable Chromebook Flip and it quickly becomes popular among budget-conscious consumers.
Chromebook Flip is the latest in the line of low cost laptops as it only costs $249 or a fourth of normal laptop's price. The device has a tablet functionality and can be transformed into a laptop by "clipping" the keyboard. Because of the removable keyboard accessory, the new Chromebook is slim and portable. The device is manufactured by ASUS.
According to Customs Today, an increasing number of budget-conscious buyers are attracted to Chromebooks, mainly because of its affordable price. Moreover, just like Apple's MacBooks, the laptops get OS updates automatically minimizing the maintenance cost. Moreover, the apps are also web-based and are updated automatically.
Meanwhile, online retailer giant Amazon is currently holding a sale by giving a price cut of $20 or 15 percent off to selected Chromebook models in their Intel Chromebook Event. Some of the discounted models include, Acer Chromebook 15, the Toshiba CB35, and even the Samsung Chromebook 2. The promo will run until Apr. 19.
Aside from Chromebook, Google also released a device dubbed as Chromebit, which is very similar to Chromecast. This new gadget will enable HDMI display into a fully functioning Chromebook running with Chrome OS. The Chromebit is very similar to Intel's Compute Stick.
The Chromebit has two ends - one end features an HDMI connector that will be plugged to any HDMI compatible-display, the other end is equipped with USB 2.0 port where a keyboard or a mouse can be connected through a USB hub. However, the device also features a Bluetooth.
