Just like our planet earth, the sun also experiences a variation of seasons, as per a study conducted by NCAR (Nation Centre for Atmospheric Research), in order to get to know about the Sun in a more elaborate manner which could in turn provide a lot of insights about the solar activities and wind patterns.
However, while planet earth has its seasons in just one year, the sun takes more than one year to experience all of its seasons.
The actual reason for the variety of seasons on the sun's surface is accounted to the changing magnetic field which surrounds the gigantic star, as reported by Customs Today. These solar magnetic bands are the ones which are responsible or giving rise to all the seasons on sun, for an 11-year-long solar cycle. The study further reveals that these solar bands overlap with each other which is controlled by the interior of the sun's surface.
The solar activity reaches its peak every 11 months and then it starts to wane. The scientists used the NASA satellites and more of the latest equipment to study the details of the solar season activity. There is a lot of pulling and pushing of the solar bands due to the strong magnetic field, which causes violent behavior on the sun's surface, as reported by Science Recorder.
The team also says that the people do not pay much attention to the fact that the Sun too has seasons, because they do not think that it affects them as well. The seasons on the Sun pretty much drive everything in the solar activities area.
This fact was first stated in 1960, but due to the lack of technology, no further proof was obtained for a conclusive ending.
