Android users will be treated to a new section in Google Play Store called Games You Can Feel. This new section will highlight games with haptic feedback.
According to Inquisitr, there are 15 games available for users to download. All the games featured in the new section are using haptic technology developed by California based company Immersion. The technology known as Touchsense Engage was launched on Mar. 31.
Immersion's head of mobile gaming division Nick Thomas said, "In the gaming community, there is a constant push to be on the cutting edge of both technology and creativity. We're seeing demand from top studios for tactile effects that are custom designed to enhance game play and work hand-in-hand with the audio and visual elements of the game."
Google is currently working with Immersion in order to integrate haptic technology into mobile games.
The games under the "Games You Can Feel" section are free to Android userssuch as "Angry Birds Friends," "Drag Racing," "Ninja Hero Cats" and an air guitar app called "Solo Air," according to Techno Buffalo. Two "Grand Theft Auto" titles were also included, "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" and "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas."
