As China becomes closer to reaching its dream of becoming one of the most influential countries in the world, Chinese officials announced at a two-day conference of the International Exchange of Professionals in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, that the country is advocating a platform for its local and overseas talents.
The State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) stated on Saturday that local Chinese talents, especially the state-owned enterprises facing further global expansion challenges, are being trained as a new partnership with American nonprofit group Project Management Institute is underway for the project, program and portfolio management profession.
According to Wang Li, an official of the state-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the new partnership is important as it can deliver significant innovations to the expansion of Chinese ventures.
Preparing the talents can also help minimize the operational costs, leverage project management levels, control risk and encourage innovation, Lu Ming, deputy administrator of SAFEA, said.
On the other hand, Chinese citizens working abroad are encouraged to establish business in the country as it can lead to innovative businesses, Yuan Yuan, who works in the Suzhou Government Organization Department, told China Daily.
"With more overseas Chinese and foreigners wanting to seek opportunities in China, we want to take this opportunity to not only attract talent but to keep it in Suzhou," Yuan added.
According to China Daily, the Chinese government wants to lure more international talents and entrepreneurs to start businesses in the country.
Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Fujian have attracted local, overseas, and even foreign experts to start businesses or carry out innovative projects.
System standardization has also administered platforms for proficient individuals to settle a business in the country.
"Enhancing exchanges and cooperation with international talents will help us draw on the outstanding achievements of civilizations of all countries in the world as well as push forward creative shifts and innovative development of the Chinese civilization," Chinese President Xi Jinping said during a meeting with foreign experts in Shanghai in 2014.
