"Transformers 5" has already been confirmed and there are several reports at the moment suggesting that Mark Wahlberg and Shia LaBeouf will be playing lead roles in the upcoming film.
Director/producer Akiva Goldsman previously revealed that "Transformers 5" will not only be divided into several sequels; it will also feature additional spinoffs from the main franchise as well, according to Master Herald.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount decided to tap Goldsman to join Michael Bay and Lorenzo di Bonaventura to help the studio develop some ideas on how to present the upcoming film and spinoffs.
The publication also noted that Bay previously directed the first four "Transformers" movies," which have collectively grossed $3.8 billion worldwide. The latest installment entitled, "Transformers: Age of Extinction" saw the capability of Wahlberg to win his audience, leading the film to earn $1.1 billion.
With this, rumors that Wahlberg and LaBeouf will take on lead roles in "Transformers 5" continue to circulate. However, as of late, the plot or the direction of the upcoming sequel has not yet been confirmed so fans of both actors are still unaware what their favorites would do this time around.
Meanwhile, according to Master Herald, there is a possibility that "Transformers 5" will explore multiple timelines. If this were to push through, LaBeouf and Wahlberg can most certainly reprise their roles in the movie.
"Transformers 5" was originally slated for release some time next year, but it was later on revealed that the installment will be released a year later because there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.
