Optimus Prime voice talent Peter Cullen recently requested "Transformers" producers to return to the franchise's former plotlines, in an attempt to win back audiences from younger generations.
According to Master Herald, despite the success of "Transformers: Age of Extinction" last year, there seems to be disconnect between the film and its younger audiences.
The publication also noted that "Transformers" originally targeted young audiences with its comic books and animated TV series, but all of these were set aside when the producers decided to complicate the storylines.
However, Paramount recently promised that the story of "Transformers 5" will see major changes once it hits theaters, Cinema Blend reported.
Meanwhile, there have also been reports that "Transformers 5" will focus on Optimus Prime's attempt to search for their creator. In order for this to happen, the film has to be shot in Cybertron or in outer space.
Other parts of the upcoming sequel will be shot on Earth and this is where majority of Mark Wahlberg's scenes would take place.
Additionally, there are speculations that the Autobots and Deceptions will now belong to different alliances when they go to Cyberton.
In other news, Michael Bay will no longer return to the franchise because he is already tied up with other engagements.
At that time, Bay said that he wants to try out new things and portray new roles because he feels that there are a lot of other stories out there that he can still tell.
"Transformers 5" is slated for release sometime in 2017.
