LG announced the LG Watch Urbane at the Mobile World Congress 2015 held in Barcelona, Spain and now the smartwatch is making its rounds in the Asian market after being released in India. It will be offered in two variants, the Rose Gold and the Silver model.
The LG Watch Urbane fetched a price tag of 30,000 Indian Rupees which is around US $470. The LG Watch Urbane is the successor to the LG Watch R which was released in October 2014.
The LG Watch Urbane has a 1.3-inch P-OLED display with a circular shape that looks like a traditional watch. The circular display has a resolution of 320 x 320 with 245 ppi pixel density. It also has a stainless steel body, according to Tech First Post.
According to Phone Arena, despite being the latest of the two models the LG Watch Urbane has the same display brightness and color reproduction to its predecessor, the LG Watch R. In addition, the LG Watch Urbane does not have an ambient light sensor which means that it does not automatically adjust screen brightness.
The LG Watch Urbane has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor running at 1.2GHz along with 512 megabytes of RAM and 4 gigabytes of internal storage. The flagship smartwatch from LG measures 45.5mm x 52.2mm x 10.9mm.
The LG Watch Urbane is one of the first smartwatches to receive the Android Wear 5.1 update. The latest update from Google will give the smartwatch Wi-Fi connection capabilities. Some tech blogs claim that the new Android Wear update will allow smartwatches to support Google Maps.
