"The Bachelorette" season 11 star Kaitlyn Bristowe gave bachelor JJ Lane, 32, a rose despite the negative reviews of "Trainwreck" star Amy Schumer about him in the episode of the ABC reality show that aired on May 25, Monday.
Schumer appeared on "The Bachelorette" season 11 as a guest to help the bachelors prepare for a stand-up comedy routine. During the group date preparation, the Comedy Central star showed strong dislike against Lane, who used to work as an investment banker.
According to Schumer, Lane is "a sweetheart" but he is "just missing charisma and humility and a sense of humour," adding that maybe when the former investment banker sees the reality show, he will "reflect on himself a little bit" and not be "such a turd."
A father of a three-year-old daughter, Lane annoyed the other bachelors after getting the rose by monopolizing the bachelorette, who is a dance instructor, at the cocktail party. He bragged, "I'm feeling smugness, wrapped inside of cockiness, wrapped inside of confidence, wrapped inside of 'I just talked to the girl and you didn't.'"
Aside from Schumer, boxing legend Muhammad Ali's daughter Laila Ali, 37, also appeared as a guest during the first group date in "The Bachelorette" season 11. The undefeated boxer said that "boxing is a lot like relationships" as it requires commitment, passion and determination when Bristowe said she wants a man who will fight for her.
Meanwhile, Judd Apatow's comedy film "Trainwreck" starring Schumer opposite Bill Hader and Brie Larson is set to hit theaters on July 17.
