A video of an incest joke made by "19 Kids And Counting" star Josh Duggar has resurfaced in the wake of the sexual molestation allegations thrown at him. In the video, the 27-year-old father seems to be making a joke about siblings dating.
"So, we chose Jana and John David. We thought why not, have a double date," Duggar says in the clip from 2008 when the family reality show was called "17 Kids And Counting" explaining why he had to look for somebody to double-date with him and then-fiancée Anna.
At the time, the eldest son of the Duggars found out that his sister, Jinger Duggar, could not chaperone him and Anna on a movie date so he decided to go out with his siblings, Jana and John David Duggar. When the camera cuts in the clip, Josh jokes, "We are from Arkansas!"
It must be noted that the Duggars follow strict religious rules about courting. Among these rules is not allowing kissing and un-chaperoned dates before marriage.
In an exclusive statement to People, Josh said, "I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation."
Josh said in the statement that he and his parents spoke with the authorities where he confessed his wrongdoing, and his parents arranged for him and those affected by his actions to receive counseling.
"I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life," Josh stated.
Currently, "19 Kids And Counting" is still listed as one of the TLC shows. Watch the resurfaced incest joke video of the eldest son of the Duggars here:
