"Tomorrowland" star Britt Robertson is basking in the success of her recent Disney film. However, amid all of the hype and positive reviews she has been receiving, the actress said that she does not want to be dubbed as the next big thing, just like "The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence.
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Robertson explained why she does not want to become the next big thing in Hollywood.
According to her, she sees herself as an actor and this is something that she always wanted to do. However, when other people ask her to look at the opportunity from a business point of view, that is when she realizes that it is impossible to see herself as a business, a strategy or as the "next big star."
Robertson added that being the next big thing is not necessarily what she signed up for when she entered the industry. As a way to keep her feet deeply planted on the ground, Robertson constantly reminds herself to not believe all the hype she is getting, at any given time.
Meanwhile, Robertson plays the role of Casey Newton on "Tomorrowland." Before she was cast for the role, director Brad Bird auditioned a handful of actresses but eventually ended up with her, Latin Post reported.
The director said that he was impressed with Robertson because it was obvious that she auditioned for the role because she could give justice to the character and not because she thinks she could gain stardom from it.
"Tomorrowland" is still showing in select theaters in the United States today.
