Rumors about the release of Apple's iPhone 6S claim that the upgraded version of the smartphone will finally hit the store in September. Due to the unprecedented popularity of the S series, many tech analysts claim that the iPhone 6S model will surpass its predecessor, the iPhone 6, in terms of sales.
According to International Business Times, Apple has sold more than 135 million units of the iPhone 6 on a global scale. This figure includes the regular iPhone 6 and its phablet variant, the iPhone 6 Plus. Released in the last quarter of 2014, the iPhone 6 has amassed a pretty impressive sales record.
Considering the previous release of the S series, analysts are confident that the iPhone 6S will eclipse the combined record of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in terms of sales.
Among the rumored addition to the iPhone 6S is the Force Touch feature. Force Touch technology allows the smartphone to differentiate user's touch input whether soft or hard taps. This technology is already integrated in the Apple Watch as well as the MacBook Pro.
According to Vine Report, the iPhone 6S will sport an A9 chip, 2 gigabyte of internal memory and a 12 megapixel dual lens camera that is capable of producing DSLR quality photos. It also rumored that the upcoming smartphone will have an upgraded battery life and will run on the yet to be released iOS 9 operating system.
As for the upcoming smartphone's screen size, analysts believe that the iPhone 6S will retain the same 4.7-inch screen just like its iPhone 6 counterpart. The iPhone 6S Plus will also have the same 5.5-inch screen present in the iPhone 6 Plus.
