Moto G 2015 release may happen next month if the words of Lenovo executive prove to be true.
Lenovo chairman and CEO Yang Yuanqing hinted that the company is launching "exciting products this summer.
Yuanqing told The Telegraph, "We have many new models in development with the Moto brands. So you may see in summer us launching some very exciting products, including phones and watches."
Yuanquing's teaser statement makes more sense considering Motorola's schedule in releasing new devices for its Moto line. The first generation Moto G was released in November 2013 while the second generation Moto G2 was released 10 months after, in September 2014. Following the 10-month schedule, there is a big chance of seeing the new Moto device in July, according to Day Herald.
Although Motorola has yet to confirm the rumors, the Moto G 2015 release is much closer than anticipated.
Lenovo acquired Motorola Mobility division from Google in September 2014 and experts along with tech enthusiasts are closely following the company's official Moto G 2015 launch.
Despite Lenovo owning majority of Motorola, the China-based company said that it will continue to use the Motorola brand. While Lenovo is a well-established brand name in the Asian market, Motorola is widely known in Western countries especially within the United States and European region.
Lenovo president for mobile business group Liu Jun said that the acquisition of Motorola is part of the company's global strategy. He added that the company is planning to bring Motorola products into South East Asia while at the same time introduce Lenovo devices into the European region.
