A leaked internal email from Vodafone revealed that the new iPhone 6S will go on sale on Sept. 25 and pre-orders for the handset will be accepted starting Sept. 18.
According to by Mobile News, the leaked email did not explicitly mention the iPhone model and just mentioned the "the new iPhone." However, it is expected that it will be iPhone 6S.
Reports claimed that the upcoming iPhone will have similar design with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, though rumors suggest that Apple may release the handset in different colors variants.
Under the hood, the new iPhone 6S features will include a 12 MP rear camera with two lenses to shoot photographs comparable to DLSR quality. Apple is planning to increase the camera's quality substantially and it will have a Sony sensor as well. The camera will also have a white sub-pixel, which will enable users to take good shots when the light conditions are not optimum.
It is also speculated that wireless charging will be introduced in the upcoming iPhone.
Other iPhone 6S specs may include the new A9 processor, which is smaller in comparison with its predecessors, but will be faster and will consume less power for optimum performance.
Meanwhile, there are rumors saying that the tech giant also plans to release a 4-inch iPhone 7C in 2016. This is fueled by reports that Apple has signed a deal with AU Optronics, which will supply 4-inch displays for the smaller iPhone, according to SiliconAngle.
The estimated delivery date of the displays is in the first quarter of 2016, which implies that Apple may release a new handset next year.
