It's a great day for Chinese rocks fans. Muse, one of the best British rock bands today, have announced that they will play a show in China for the first time.
Muse will perform several of their most popular hits, including songs from their new studio album, "Drones," on Sept. 21 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai. The concert will be presented by AEG Live, the live-entertainment off-shoot of AEG, based in Los Angeles, California.
The concert will be part of Muse's promotional tour for "Drones," which will be released on June 8 worldwide.
Muse was formed in the English town of Teignmouth, Devon, in the 1990s. Matthew Bellamy fronts the band as the lead vocalist, while Christopher Wolstenholme plays the bass guitar. Drums, percussion and synthesizers are within the realm of Dominic Howard.
Their early material was said to have striking similarity to English rock band Radiohead. The band released their first album, "Showbiz," in 1999. It was met with critical and commercial acclaim.
"Showbiz" was followed by the albums "Origin of Symmetry," "Black Holes and Revelations," "Absolution," "The Resistance," and "The 2nd Law." Their latest studio album, "Drones," is their seventh studio release.
Since their foundation, the band has received numerous awards and nominations from various award-giving bodies. Under their belt are five MTV European Music Awards, an American Music Award, two Brit Awards, and eight NME Awards.
Their album "The Resistance" won Best Rock Album during the 2011 Grammy Awards, while "Black Holes and Revelations" earned them a Mercury Prize nomination.
Muse have sold more than 15 million albums during their 21 years in the music scene.
