After the conflict between "Fifty Shades of Grey" director Sam Taylor-Johnson and author E.L. James, film writer Kelly Marcel recently revealed she will not be seeing the film.
Marcel said that the film is painful to watch due to its difference to what she initially wrote, as per Daily Record. Though the write did not want to see the film, she also said that there is no bitterness, anger, or other similar thoughts.
What happened to the film was discouraging for Marcel as she entered the task of writing the film screenplay with the impression that she could write the screenplay with creative freedom, as per Cinema Blend.
Creative difference is the main issue that led Taylor-Johnson and James to part ways. At this point, there is no announcement yet as to who will sit on the director's chair to helm the movie. Meanwhile, the film's sequel, "Fifty Shades Darker," will push through.
In "Fifty Shades Darker," Anastasia Steele has to deal with the envy and anger of other women in Christian Grey's life while the latter has to face his own demons.
"Fifty Shades Darker" stars Dakota Johnson, reprising her role as Steele, and Jamie Dornan, reprising his role as young tycoon Grey. The film will also star Luke Grimes, Rita Ora, Eloise Mumford, and Victor Rasuk.
The film is based from the best-selling novel authored by E.L. James. Her husband Niall Leonard is on board to pen the screenplay while Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca will serve as co-producers.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to premiere in theaters on Nov. 10, 2017.
