Sony recently released its flagship camera, the Sony Alpha A7R Mark II. The top-of-the-line technologies installed into the company's new full frame mirrorless camera is the reason why it is on top when it comes to high-end DLSR industry.
The Sony Alpha A7R Mark II boasts a 42-megapixel back-illuminated full frame Exmor R CMS sensor, according to Gizmag. It has 4K video recording capabilities and also sports an upgraded autofocus system that has 399 focal-plane phase detection AF points. This figure is reported to be around 40 percent faster compared to the original A7R.
According to Wired, the Sony Alpha A7R Mark II has an integrated EVF to which Sony claims to be the best magnification when it comes to full-frame camera class. The new flagship camera from Sony also has a body-based stabilization system that can correct user movements on five axes.
Sony's new camera has a built-in Wi-FI and Near Field Communication capabilities making it easier to transfer files from the camera to a compatible smartphone or directly to a personal computer. It is also PlayMemories Camera App compatible which means that a smartphone can be used to function as remote control for the camera.
The Sony Alpha A7R Mark II, based on its specs alone, is a high-end camera by any standards. The camera also fetched a high-end price tag of $3200, making it more suitable for professionals as well as enthusiasts with money to spare. Based on the camera's top of the line specs and price, it is clearly not aimed for hobbyists and amateurs.
Sony plans to release the Alpha A7R Mark II in August.
