Award-winning actress and producer Sandra Bullock is back in the limelight after a self-imposed hiatus. Her appearance at the recent "Minions" premiere in London was met with much excitement.
The "Gravity" and "The Blind Side" star has lent her voice to the villainous character Scarlet Overkill in the "Minions" animated flick. At the London premiere of the film, she was joined by co-stars Stuart, Kevin and Bob as well as the movie's co-directors Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, Los Angeles Times reported.
Bullock has shied away from public events for over a year following a traumatic home invasion incident that occurred in early June 2014.
The 50-year-old actress earlier stated in interviews that her five-year-old son Louis is an avid fan of the "Minions" characters. Bullock said her son may or may not recognize her voice when the boy watches the movie.
"Minions" traces the adventures of the little henchmen and the masters they had before they came to know Gru, the "Despicable Me" main character voiced by Steve Carrell. In the new movie, Kevin, Stuart and Bob go on a journey to find a new evil master, and in the process stumble upon a plan that will wipe out their fellow Minions.
The spin-off/prequel of the "Despicable Me" films is slated for theatrical release in the United States on July 10. "Despicable Me" raked in $543 million, while "Despicable Me 2" made $841 gross revenues worldwide, the Daily Mail reported.
The official trailer of the movie produced by Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment has gotten over 26 million views on YouTube, to date.
