Host nation Chile will try to follow-up its dominating 2-0 opening game win over Ecuador as it faces Mexico during the second round of the 2015 Copa America at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago, Chile on Monday, June 15.
Mexico, predicted by Bleacher Report as Chile's "most challenging" rival for the top spot in Group A, appears to be out of its game in this summer's tourney and is coming off an unimpressive scoreless draw with underdog Bolivia during their opener.
El Tri needs to find its rhythm in this match versus tournament favorite La Roja if the team wants to qualify for the quarterfinals. If Bolivia wins or draws against Ecuador, and the Mexicans lose to Chile, then Miguel Herrera's troops will not move on to the knockout stages.
But if Bolivia loses and Mexico draws or wins, then they still have a solid shot at entering the quarters.
However, Chile is a tough competitor in this year's South American contest. Bannered by Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, Fiorentina midfielder David Pizarro, and Barcelona's goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, the Chileans are one of top three teams predicted to win this year's Copa America crown.
It will take a lot from Herrera and his boys to pull off an upset over Jorge Sampaoli's wards especially that they had fielded their B-team in this year's competitions. But forward Raúl Jiménez and midfielder Jesús Manuel Corona may provide a surprise as per Latin Post.
The predicted result is another 2-0 win by Chile over Mexico. Sanchez will be dominant in this game for the hosts.
