Announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 in Los Angeles, "Street Fighter 5" quickly became one of the highly anticipated games of the year. Just like the game's previous versions, "Street Fighter 5" offer new gameplay mechanics in the form of the V-Skills and V-Triggers.
In "Street Fighter 3," developers introduced the parry system to its gameplay mechanics. "Street Fighter 4" saw the inclusion of focus attacks.
According to The Standard Daily, every character included in "Street Fighter 5" will have its own unique V-Skill and V-Trigger abilities. The V-Skill option can be activated by pressing two specific medium buttons at the same time. The V-Trigger on the other hand can be activated by mashing two heavy buttons simultaneously.
"Street Fighter 5" also features special moves which vary with each character. One example is Ryu's V-Skill move which allows the character to parry an attack. This makes Ryu the only character in "Street Fighter 5" that has that specific kind of parry move.
Capcom, "Street Fighter 5" developer, said that it will also introduce the V-Reversals mechanics which increases the characters V-Meter when successfully executing a reversal move. Additionally, V-Reversals also allow players to perform unique counter-attacking moves. Reversals do not inflict as much damage as normal attacks but it is important in terms of cancelling combos as well as setting space.
According to Gotta Be Mobile, Capcom is planning to release a Beta version of "Street Fighter 5" before the end of the year. The game's estimated release date is expected to be within the first quarter of 2016.
"Street Fighter 5" is a PC and PlayStation 4 exclusive.
