"It is impossible for any country to fight alone against any kind of terrorist threat," said Meng.

The advocacy was made during the sixth international meeting of high-ranking security representatives held in Ulan-Ude, Thursday.

Meng said that the Chinese government has carried out a series of legal measures to contain and suppress the propagation of terrorism on the Internet.

The representatives from more than 70 countries and international organizations have agreed to strengthen international cooperation and coordination to effectively fight against newly emerged and traditional terrorist threats. This is in line with the rampant occurrences of cyberattacks happening worldwide.

Meng and Russian representatives held the second meeting of institutionalized cooperation in law enforcement and security. China and Russia have made fruitful achievements in such fields as anti-terrorism, law enforcement and security.

The two countries reached an agreement to expand cooperation in law enforcement and security in order to create a peaceful and stable environment for the all-round cooperation between China and Russia.

Recently, China and the U.S. also pledged on a "code of cyber conduct."

During the three-day talks between the two countries, President Obama urged China to take concrete steps to lower tensions.

John Kerry, U.S. Secretary of State, said that there was an honest discussion, without accusations or finger-pointing about the problem of cyber theft.

As the two countries work together to come up with a code of cyber conduct, China ensures that the country is ready to cooperate with the U.S. on cybersecurity issues.
