Blogging and social networking website Tumblr recently released a new feature called Tumblr TV. The new feature will offer endless GIF image format. This is one of the company's major roll out since its separation from Yahoo.
According to Venture Beat, Tumblr TV will provide the latest and trending GIF's. Tumblr TV aims to provide a medium in order for GIF's to gain mainstream popularity.
Once rolled out, Tumblr TV will give its users three possible option for viewing GIF's; the regular list and grid view and the new TV view. Once activated, the TV view option will expand a GIF in order for it to fill the whole browser screen.
Additionally, TV view will also play GIF's one after the other.
The TV view also gives user the option on how to control their GIF viewing experience. It lets user skip to the next GIF, replay the previous entry or pause the current one. Users will have a link that jumps directly to the Tumblr TV page in order to access trending GIF's.
Tumblr will also allow its users to create their very own Tumblr TV profile. Users can simple add their username to the end of their respective Tumblr TV URL in order to do so.
According to The Next Web, Tumblr will also incorporate the regular search function in looking for GIF's in its service. For example, a user wants to look for GIF's regarding cars, all they need to do is type in "cat" in the search bar and append the word "gif" in order for the search engine to cross out irrelevant results.
