Former NBA player Jackson Vroman died tragically from injuries sustained in a terrible car crash on June 29, Monday. He was 34.
The news of the American born professional player was announced first on Twitter by Phoenix Suns, for which Vroman played with Steve Nash in the 2004-2005 season. The team tweeted, "We are very saddened to learn of the passing of Jackson Vroman. Our thoughts are with his family during this time."
It was followed by another official confirmation by the Lebanese Basketball team on Twitter. The team tweeted, "We sadly announce the death of former Lebanese national team player Jackson Vroman in a tragic car accident."
Born and bought up in United States, the player was naturalized as a Lebanese citizen to play for the Lebanon national basketball team in 2009. He played 87 career NBA games during his time with the Suns, and the New Orleans Hornets, averaging 3.3 points and 3 rebounds per game.
Prior to that, the player had also played for State from 2002 to 2004 before he was selected in the second round of the 2004 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls, Sports Illustrated reported. He had also played in Spain, China, South Korea and Philippines in the past.
Born into a sports loving family with his father, former NBA player Brett Vroman, the late basketball player was known to be close friends with "Baby" hit maker Justin Bieber and 30-year-old NFL player Reggie Bush, Us Weekly reported.
"Love you bro I miss you already can't believe your gone I pray that God has mercy on your soul at the gates of Heaven and we meet again in the after life," Bush captioned an Instagram photo in which he can be seen in the mid of a beach volleyball game with Jackson. He added that he feels honored on spending with him his last a few days.
Bieber, who used to hang out with the late player regularly, is yet to comment on the death of his close friend. Just a couple of months ago, Jackson posted an Instagram photo showing him hanging out with the singer in Cannes in 2014.
