65-year-old musician Bill Hudson, father of actor Oliver Hudson and film star Kate Hudson, was very vocal about his reaction to his son's Instagram post reportedly accusing him of abandonment. However, sources say the Hudson siblings are not surprised their estranged father reacted that way.
It all started with an Instragram photo posted by Oliver Hudson on Father's Day that went viral. It is a throwback photo of the actor with his father and sister, but is captioned, "Happy Abandonment Day....@katehudson."
In response, Bill Hudson stressed that the son's post will cause him so much pain, The Daily Mail reported.
Bill Hudson also said that his son will do something to get out of the shadow of his superstar mother Goldie Hawn and younger sister Kate. Hawn and Bill Hudson underwent a publicize separation when the siblings were still young.
Bill Hudson recalled his relationship with his children when they were young and how much he loved them, "I adored [Oliver]. When Kate came along, I loved her with all my heart, too."
But after what happened, Bill Hudson stated that his son's actions were nothing short of a "malicious, vicious, premeditated attack."
Meanwhile, sources close to the family told Us Weekly that Bill Hudson's reactions came as no surprise to the siblings. The sources added that, "They [Kate and Oliver] don't care. They have zero relationship."
The siblings got a father figure with their mom's longtime partner Kurt Russell, to whom the siblings extend greetings on Father's Day. Kate Hudson even posted an intimate photo with Russell and wrote, "Pa, just simply... thank you. Happy Father's Day."
