Hollywood heavyweights including "Bourne Identity" actor Matt Damon and a competent production design team are all set to make the Zhang Yimou-helmed film "The Great Wall" the film to watch in late 2016.
Asia's superstar Andy Lau and Chinese heartthrob Lu Han have sparked even greater interest by being part of the highly touted English language film about how the iconic structure is utilized to keep out ancient otherworldly creatures.
During the recent press conference for "The Great Wall" held in Beijing, Damon stated that working with the actors has been a breeze. The Hollywood A-lister expressed how pleased he was to be part of a big movie with talented professionals, and also mentioned that movie watchers are in for some nice surprises, Los Angeles Times reported. The script was refined to appeal to worlwide audiences.
Legendary Entertainment's Thomas Tull, who produced a string of blockbuster films that include "300," "The Hangover," "Man of Steel" and more, seems not to have left a stone unturned when it came to casting ensemble, director, and production team.
During the press conference, Damon stated how impressed he was by the huge following of former EXO member Luhan. The former talent of SM Entertainment who plays a boy-emperor in "The Great Wall," for hsi part, said that being part of a big-budget China-Hollywood co-produced film has been overwhelming; there is an abundance of trailers, location spots, studios and eats, The Straits Times reported.
In other news, Damon is also set to appear in the fifth installment of the "Bourne" franchise which has a July 2016 release date, just a few months ahead of the theatrical showing of "The Great Wall."
