There is nothing the Indominus Rex cannot beat. Not even a regenerating cyborg and a brood of good looking male strippers.
"Jurassic World" has again topped the box office against several awaited movie releases. The fourth installment of the dinosaur series made $30.9 million over the holiday weekend, from July 3 to 5, noted Time. This is the fourth straight week that the movie topped the charts.
Following closely is "Inside Out" with $30.1 million. Notably, over the five-day holiday period, the Pixar animated movie won over the dinosaurs with $45.3 million against "Jurrasic's" $43.8 M, Time noted.
New releases did not fare well during Fourth of July.
"Magic Mike XXL" and "Terminator Genisys," some of the movies that were expected to break the charts this weekend, failed to make a dent in box office. Both released on July 1, Arnold Schwarzenneger's cyborg's time traveling installment and Channing Tatum's testosterone-filled film took third and fourth places in the charts.
"Terminator 5" only made $28.7 M from July 3 to 5, while "Magic Mike 2" only had $12 million.
"Genisys" had the second lowest opening weekend ticket sales among all five "Terminator" movies, according to Business Insider. The lowest being the first ever "Terminator" which debuted in 1984.
The site also noted that the film had the widest release of all the five "Terminator" films, being released in 3,758 cinemas.
Taking the fifth spot in the box office is "Ted 2" with $11 million. Asif Kapadia's documentary on Amy Winehouse, titled "Amy", impressively made $222,015 over the weekend being released in six theaters only.
