The official release date of the upcoming videogame "Journey" was unceremoniously revealed after it was leaked details of a PlayStation Docs. Based on the leaked information, "Journey" will be released on July 21.
The leaked information also coincides with previous rumors claiming that the game will be released mid-2015, according to Irish Examiner. The game was also previewed in the Sony Room during the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo.
Based on the information posted on PlayStation Docs, the game has an E rating and will be an exclusive title for the PlayStation 4 console. The official listing read, "Play alone or in the company of a fellow traveler and explore its vast world together. Featuring stunning visuals and a Grammy-nominated musical score, Journey delivers a breathtaking experience like no other."
The listing on PlayStation Docs also includes a gameplay trailer. Despite the posting on PlayStation Docs, Sony has yet to announce the game's official release date.
Based on the video provide, not much was changed on the gameplay. However, the game's frame rate was significantly improved from 30 frames-per-second to 60 frames-per-second.
The first "Journey" game was released in March 2012 and was a PlayStation 3 exclusive title. The game was developed by ThatGameCompany. Additionally, ThatGameCompany still commands the development stage of the upcoming PlayStation 4 version of "Journey" only this time it has tapped the service of Tricky Pixels.
"Journey" gameplay is relatively simple, players take the role of robed figure as it traverse several levels set on a desolate desert. The game received several critical and commercial success. The game also won several Game of the Year award from different award-giving bodies, mostly gaming publications.
