With Colin Trevorrow's "Jurassic World" progressively dominating the box office, the director has revealed an issue with the first trailers of his dinosaur sequel.
In his interview with IGN, Trevorrow said that the studio has revealed in the trailers more of the movie that he would have desired. While the studio is responsible for telling the story and Trevorrow for marketing the movie to the audience, the conflicting ideas have made jagged paths.
Fans have learned numerous revelations in the first "Jurassic World" trailer, which included CG-dinosaurs, the Indominus rex, and the action sequences, such as Chris Pratt's interaction with the Velociraptors. For the director, he would have hanged onto those elements for a while, as including such in the film perspective would be more effective.
Trevorrow added that the studio wanted to make the most of their funds by giving the best shot in the trailers. At the same time, this would give them assurance that the movie will be unique and successful.
Meanwhile, Trevorrow's issue is similar with Alan Taylor's concern on his action adventure sci-fi film "Terminator Genysis," which has just been released on July 1. According to Uproxx, the contents of the film trailers spoiled the film, which was surprising for him. He also added that he had some hostile discussions with the studio.
While Trevorrow has revealed his concerns on the initial "Jurassic World" trailers, the film managed to dominate the box office. After its initial release on June 12, "Jurassic World" has made an estimated global gross of $1.4 billion. It made an estimated domestic gross of $31 million last weekend and still reigns as the highest grossing film of 2015.
Trevorrow's "Jurassic World" and Taylor's "Terminator Genysis" are still showing in theaters.
