"Avengers: Infinity War" may see the death of some fan-favourite Marvel superheroes. According to a latest report, Thor, Captain America and Iron Man will not make it through the battle against the most powerful villain in the marvel universe, Thanos.
According to Movie Pilot, these three iconic superheroes are most likely to be dead by the end of "Avengers: Infinity War-Part II" as they make way for the new Avengers including those who were introduced in "Age of Ultron." The website notes that the Marvel boss Kevin Feige once said that "Avengers: Infinity War-Part II" will be a "finale" to the storyline that was introduced 11 years ago in 2008 with "Iron Man."
The publication states that Captain America, the alter-ego of Steve Rogers, dies and his legacy is taken forward by Bucky Barnes and then by Sam Wilson. Citing the claims by Lainey Gossip, the website states that Bucky Barnes' "role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to get a lot bigger." Meanwhile, Chris Evans' contract is also said to be ending with "Avengers: Infinity War."
As for Iron Man, his future remains uncertain especially after the failure of his retirement plan, Ultron. Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. has confirmed that "Iron Man 4" will not happen. At the same time, the actor is on a "movie-to-movie" contract and not a fixed one. Considering the nature of his contract, the character might be written of anytime. However, how Tony Stark's finale remains unknown. He may reportedly be killed or choose voluntary retirement.
It is said that "Thor: Ragnarok" is going to bring some major changes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie is set to feature a war between Loki and his brother Thor that will have some far-reaching consequences for the God of Thunder. Speaking about Chris Hemsworth's contract, the actor told Collider that he is only left with three movies in his contract with Marvel.
"I'm three films away from [the end of my contract]; I've got Avengers 3 and 4 and I've got Thor 3," the actor said.
Entertainment publication Screen Rant also suggests that most "Avengers" actors' contracts will expire by the end of "Avengers: Infinity War." Except Mark Ruffalo's The Hulk from the current team, others, including Chris Evans' Captain America, Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow may no more be the part of the "Avengers" team and Marvel Universe after the battle. Taking over the crime-fighting squad will reportedly be superheroes like Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Doctor Strange and more.
"Avengers: Infinity War-Part 1" releases on May 4, 2018 followed by Part 2 releasing on May 3, 2019.
