With Joe and Anthony Russo's "Avengers: Infinity War" hitting the big screen within the next four years, the film's antagonist, Thanos, is reported to be joined by another powerful villain known as The Magus.
According to Acting Auditions, The Magus and Thanos will both appear in the first of the Russos' two-part film, with the former separating from its alter ego and brings together the Infinity Gaunlet. The supervillain also starts his plot of raising a universe of evil by creating clones of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, The Magus is the older and malevolent version of the futuristic hero in the comic book who attempts and crooks his former identity and desires to create his own universe. Also, the character has previous links to getting the Infinity Gauntlet, which leads him to be entrapped inside the Soul Gem, one of the most powerful Infinity Stone.
The tie between The Magus and the Infinity Stones can be adapted in "Avengers: Infinity War," however, the Mind Stone has been put in the forehead of Vision, who is played by Paul Bettany in Joss Whedon's "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
According to Cinema Blend, the Mind Stone in Vision is Marvel's way to inject Warlock's story to the "Infinity War," leaving a possible story arc for The Magus.
"Avengers: Infinity War - Part I" stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Josh Broin as Thanos, among others. There is no announcement made on who will play The Magus.
Shot with the IMAX/ARRI 2D digital camera, "Avengers: Infinity War - Part I" is set to hit the theaters on May 2, 2018 while "Avengers: Infinity War - Part II" is slated to premiere on May 3, 2019.
