Two NFL players are in danger of missing the upcoming NFL 2015 season after getting into gruesome accidents during Fourth of July.

New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback C.J. Wilson reportedly lost their fingers to faulty fireworks during Independence Day celebrations, CBS noted.

Leaked medical charts of Pierre-Paul were acquired by ESPN's Adam Schefter and posted on Twitter. The documents confirm that the 6'5 athlete from Florida had his right finger amputated on July 8. It seemed to be the best option for his health and football career, Boston Globe revealed.

While Schefter did not reveal who leaked the charts, CBS notes that the person in-charge could face up to $50,000 in legal fines for violating the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).

As for C.J. WIlson, the cornerback lost two of his fingers to fireworks, his father Curtis Wilson Sr. confirmed in an interview with WBTV.

"The fireworks did not pop out of the canister when they exploded," CBS revealed.

The Buccaneers have also confirmed the report, releasing a statement on Wednesday that they value Wilson's "long-term health" and keeping this their main concern at the moment.

Wilson is in his final year with Tampa Bay, while Pierre-Paul has yet to sign his one-year, $14.8 million franchise tender with the Giants. The defensive end has been a valuable part of the team's 52-man roster and is still expected to suite in the coming season.
