Samsung Galaxy S7 release will reportedly happen alongside a Galaxy S7 Edge version, and pack improved features in comparison to the current flagship device.
The upcoming Galaxy device is expected to be more than just an iterative update from Galaxy S6 that will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, according to Tech Times.
Samsung is said to be preparing two variants of Galaxy S7 - one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor used in Galaxy S5 and the other with the Exynos processor, which was used in Galaxy S6. Internally, the next year's flagship is referred to as 'Jangfrau.' However, there is no word on the exact version of the chip that the Korean company is using for the smartphone, ET News reported.
The Galaxy S7 will more likely sport a 5.5-inch 4K Super AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 resolution. The device will feature a 20-megapixel rear camera with DSLR like quality and an 8-megapixel front facing camera, and come with a new feature to be named "Gigapixel."
Galaxy S6 successor is said pack integration with 5G, which is very unlikely as Next Generation Mobile Networks Alliance has agreed to roll out 5G only by 2020.
The new Galaxy S7 will reportedly pack 4GB RAM and an internal memory of 32GB that is expandable up to 128GB, and will feature 4000 mAh, Li-Polymer battery. In case of the Galaxy S7 Edge, rumor has it that device will feature a curved display.
Nevertheless, these reports should be taken with a pinch of salt, as Samsung is yet to confirm anything related to Galaxy S7 release.
