"StarCraft 2" developer Blizzard announced on July 16 that pre-order for "Legacy of the Void" is available on Battle.net. While Blizzard has yet to confirm the official release date of "Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void," those who pre-order it will immediately receive the prologue called "Whispers of Oblivion."
"Whispers of Oblivion" is a three chapter prologue for "Legacy of the Void" and will focus on the Dark Templar Zeratul. It also serves as a transition phase from the "Heart of Swarm" expansion to the "Legacy of the Void."
"Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void" is the third chapter of the trilogy and will focus on the Protoss faction. It is currently available for $39.99. However, Blizzard will also release a deluxe edition for $59.99 and will include several additional skins for "Starcraft 2" and new contents for Blizzard's other title including "Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft," "World of Warcraft," "Diablo 3," and "Heroes of the Storm."
According to Polygon, those who will not be able to pre-order the game can still purchase the "Starcraft 2" complete collection for $59.99. The collection includes the three expansion pack; "Wings of Liberty," "Heart of the Swarm" and "Legacy of the Void." A Deluxe Collection edition is available for $99.99.
According to VG24/7, "Legacy of the Void" is a standalone release which means that players are not required to install the last two expansion in order to play the game.
"Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void" will include the Protoss faction's single-player campaign. Blizzard will also introduce a new multiplayer gameplay called Archon Mode where two players take control of a single base. An objective-based coop mode called Allied Commanders is also part of the expansion pack.
"Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void" will be released for Windows PC and Mac.
