Tech giant Microsoft recently announced that it will be taking part in the first-ever PC Gaming Show at the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo. Microsoft will be joining a lineup that includes Square Enix, Blizzard and AMD, among others.
Since the PC Gaming Show, as the name suggests, is solely devoted to everything related about PC gaming, Microsoft will most likely present some gaming related features of its upcoming Windows 10 operating system. The Microsoft presentation team will be headed by Xbox boss Phil Spencer.
It sounds a little awkward for a console like Xbox to be part of a PC-exclusive event. However, Spencer said that it is their way of showing their commitment to the PC platform.
Spencer said, "We want to make clear that when we talk about Xbox going forward, we're talking about gaming on all Windows 10 devices - PCs, tablets, phones, Xbox One and HoloLens."
According to PC Gamer, Microsoft is planning to release Xbox as a multi-platform brand that encompasses several devices including PC. When Microsoft announces its Windows 10 operating system, one of its key features is the integration of the Xbox application to the PC platform.
Additionally, several console-exclusive titles from Xbox are finding their way into the PC crowd. Upcoming "Fable Legends" and "Gigantic" will be ported to the PC as part of the Xbox integration plan.
PC gaming heavyweights like Blizzard and Square Enix are also scheduled to release some major games, according to Gamespot. Blizzard will be presenting new updates for its "Heroes of the Storm" game and will probably unveil new contents for "Starcraft II." Square Enix on the other hand will talk about its upcoming "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" title.
PC Gaming Show will open on June 16.
