After a decade, "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords" (KOTOR II) gets a fresh update and expansion to new set of platforms.
Game developer Bioware stated that the Star Wars RPG series suffered from major damages, experiencing buggy gameplay when it was launched on PC back in 2005. Gamers took initiative to fix the damages by themselves. Even the game’s original developer Obsidian or Bioware did not do anything to patch the PC version back them.
"KOTOR II" officially received its first well-deserved patch since 2004 exclusively on Steam, and the update is described as crazy huge.
The game is now featuring direct Steam Workshop mod support with, allowing players to download and install the Sith Lords Restored Content Mod in an easier manner. The mod support added a lot of endings and the HK Factory, and was able to fix hundreds of bugs. Players can download it and lets them to access the Steam Workshop of "KOTOR II", according to Kotaku.
The game also sports widescreen modes and resolution support up to 5K. The update on Steam noted that the mod's group partnered with new developers from the Aspyr, helping them in restoring the game’s content, with a possibility of the game appearing on mobile devices soon, Ars Technica reported. Players can also earn 37 achievements through the gameplay.
These updates were launched on Tuesday for OS X, Linux and SteamOS, and supports the PC gamepads like achievements and cloud save support. In celebration for the new update, "KOTOR II" dropped the price to $7.49 for a week until July 28 on Steam and it is also available on the App Store.
