On the occasion of her 23rd birthday, pop star Selena Gomez gifted her fans a special gift by announcing the arrival of her second album "Revival." The album is expected to release on Oct. 9.
The news of Gomez' new album came through one of her videos which she uploaded on Instagram on July 22, Wednesday.
"R e v i v a l. 10.9," wrote the singer to caption the short video in which she is seen writing down the expected name of her upcoming album along with its release date, while a score of her newly released single can be heard in the background.
The singer also took to Twitter to reveal the name and release date of her hotly-anticipated album to her 30.8 million followers.
The recently released new single, "Good For You," will also appear in the upcoming album. "Revival" will follow solo studio album "Stars Dance," which was released in 2013, when she was still dating mega star Justin Bieber.
During a recent interview given to MTV, the former Disney star admitted that for her second album, she has pushed herself out of her comfort zone. The upcoming album is likely become a special treat for her fans owing to the fact that for the first time, the singer was actively involved in the writing process.
The upcoming album reportedly will have hints of her highly publicized break-up with the "Baby" singer, though, the album is majorly about her newfound confidence and grace, Entertainment Weekly reported.
"I'm becoming a young woman and I'm comfortable with my sensuality," said the singer during an interview with Ryan Seacrest last month, before adding that she wants people to see the next chapter in her life.
