"Maleficent" star Angelina Jolie's eldest son, Maddox, is likely to star in the actress's next directorial venture. Recent reports state that the actress is set to direct, produce and co-write a Netflix movie, which will be based on the the Cambodian author Loung Ung's memoir "First They Killed My Father: A Daughter Of Cambodia Remembers."
"I was deeply affected by Loung's book," said the 40-year-old actress about the book which is a portrayal of the war-torn country from the point of view of a child, People reported.
It is announced that the actress's son, whom she famously adopted from an orphanage in Cambodia when he was just seven months old, will also play a part in the movie's production. Although it is not yet specified how exactly the 13-year-old will contribute the process, it is highly speculated that he will be seen in the cast of the movie in a meaty role.
The teenager is known to have a keen interest in the movie business and has worked earlier as a production assistant in Jolie's upcoming directorial movie, "By The Sea."
Meawhile, Ung, who as a child was exposed to the cruel Khmer Rouge regime in her country during the 1970s, has also expressed her happiness over the news that her "family's story" is going to be made into a movie under Jolie's direction, Vanity Fair reported.
The production of the movie will start in Cambodia later this year and it will be available for streaming on Netflix sometime in late 2016.
This will be Jolie's fourth directorial movie. Her 2011 directorial flick, "In The Land Of Milk And Honey," received a good response. Her second directorial movie, "Unbroken," came out in Decemeber 2014 while "By The Sea," starring Brad Pitt will hit the theatres on Nov. 13.
