Panamanian club CD Árabe Unido is set to face Jamaican squad Montego Bay United FC to open Group H preliminaries in the 2015-2016 CONCACAF Champions League. The match will be held at the Estadio Maracaná, home of CD Plaza Amador and Chorillo FC, in Panama City on Wednesday, August 5.
The 2015 Liga Panameña de Fútbol Clausura defending champions are on a roll after winning three of their last five games in the LPF while drawing two.
Their last match was a home game at the Estadio Armando Dely Valdés in Colón versus rival Plaza Amador. El Expreso Azul won a close 1-0 encounter with Los Leones, as per Soccerway.
Meanwhile, the Jamaican squad had just lost in the final of the Red Stripe Premier League against Arnett Gardens, 0-2, as reported by ESPN. Seba was just overmatched by the highly physical Junglists as the eventual runners-up could not stop the attacking plays of Jerome Waite's strikers.
United was down by two men in stoppage time as defenders Ladale Richie and Cordell Simpson were sent off because of minor scuffles with opponents and the referee.
Prediction: The Blue Express will carve a 3-2 win over Seba. Sergio Guzmán's men have the momentum aside from playing at home. Montego Bay has not gotten over the championship loss to Arnett and they will carry the pain in this match.
Árabe Unido starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Lloyd; Coronado, Hormechea, Niño, Ortiz; Macea, González, Bárcenas, Pereira; Addles, Polo
Montego Bay United starting lineup (4-3-3 formation): Barrett; Simpson, Richie, Ambusley, McCarthy; Gordon, Irving, Woozencroft; Ottey, St. Fleur, Williams
