Arsenal successfully defended their FA Community Shield title against last season's Premier League winners Chelsea, 1-0, at the Wembley Stadium on Sunday, as per BBC Sport.
Winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain provided the lone goal of the match in the 24th-minute mark with a left-foot stunner from a pass by forward Theo Walcott that got past Thibaut Courtois' outstretched arms and found the top-left corner of the net.
Chelsea had a chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but Brazilian midfielder Ramires missed a header from eight yards out with a perfect pass from Loïc Rémy, via The Guardian.
It was a rusty affair from then on as both teams appear to need more training time heading to their Premier League opening games this week.
