A "Minions" character landed on the busy streets of Dublin. The giant minion owned by Funderland was rumored to be sabotaged and was blown away by a strong wind and fell in the center of a busy road, blocking the passing cars.
According to The Independent, a local resident, Erin Van Londen, said that the inflatable was blown over at around 3 p.m. on Old Swords Road in Santry. Londen was stuck in 15-minute traffic jam as the owners of the inflatable cart it away with a wheelbarrow.
The 40 feet inflatable was stationed at a funfair in the Irish hospital. There are no reported injuries on the incident.
A resident commented that everyone found the incident funny but a Dublin City Councilor took it seriously. As quoted, he said "the escaped minion at Omni in Santry may seem hilarious, but it is a despicable breach of health and safety".
According to the Irish Mirror, the investigation points out that the giant minion may have been sabotaged. It could have been cut by pranksters. Funderland security said that the ropes were securely tied but it looks like it was cut.
The minion was reflated in its original place after the incident. Funderland placed cameras around the area to heighten security. They also informed the gardi about potential threat.
The company said that they are glad no one was hurt. They will cover the damage caused by the minion to the side mirror of a car.
