Zoran Dragic is currently without a team after the Boston Celtics waived the shooting guard from Slovenia.

Zoran was acquired by the Celtics from the Miami Heat on July 27 together with a second round pick in 2020 and cash considerations. In return, the Heat received a second-round pick for 2019, Sports Illustrated noted.

The move also helped the Heat save on luxury taxes.

Goran Dragic, older brother of Zoran and current NBA Most Improved player, favored the move at that time. Citing ESPN's Dan Le Batard, Sports Illustrated said the Heat Guard was hoping his brother would get more playing minutes with Boston.

However, a few months away from the start of the 2015-16 NBA season and weeks from the pre-season games, Zoran was dropped by the team.

According to Marc Stein of ESPN though, Dragic's agents pushed for the release, claiming that they wanted the 6'5" athlete to return to Europe and "ensure consistent playing time."

"Reps for Zoran Dragic, I'm told, wanted to secure release from Celts so the younger Dragic could return to Europe and ensure consistent PT," Stein tweeted.

The 26-year-old played his first season in the NBA last season wherein he suited up for 6 games with the Phoenix Suns and 10 games with the Miami Heat.

Zoran averaged 1.8 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.3 assists last season. In his final game with Miami, he recorded 22 points,.5 rebounds and 0.3 assists.

No word yet on whether any NBA team will acquire the younger Dragic or if he will be returning to the Euroleague.
