A new teaser for "Castle" season 8 was recently released online and it featured Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) staring at Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion).
According to Entertainment Weekly, the poster may symbolize Beckett's love for her husband. This is very timely because fans have been speculating that the two could end their relationship because of Hayley Shipton (Toks Olagundoye).
However, co-showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter told the publication that fans do not need to worry about anything because Hayley will join the story, not as a possible interest for Castle, but as his new partner.
Hawley and Winter also revealed that Hayley's character will be interesting because she has a different way of attacking things. As Castle's newest partner, Hayley will sometimes encourage illegal means to solve crimes.
Meanwhile, "Castle" season 8 will also feature a different approach when it comes to the show's storyline. After it was confirmed that ABC renewed the show for another season, Hawley and Winter said that they will be shaking things up a bit, according to TV Line.
It was recently confirmed that Beckett will no longer work as a detective, but as the new captain of the 12th Precinct. This means that she will now become Esposito and Ryan's new boss. Beckett's new job as the captain will also impact her relationship with Castle. However, Hawley and Winter said that fans need not worry because the two will not breakup in season 8.
"Castle" season 8 will premiere on ABC on Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. ET.
