J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is reported to take the box-office crown when it hits theaters.
Along with Sam Mendes' action thriller "Spectre" and Francis Lawrence's epic movie finale "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" , Abram's most awaited seventh installment of the "Star Wars" franchise could dethrone Colin Trevorrow's "Jurassic World," according to Cinema Blend.
Lucasfilm is not expecting the film to be substantial business-wise, in contrary to what some people assume; however, the "Star Wars" name itself has established its own fan base, enough to gross high after its official release in the big screen.
Disney CEO Bob Iger recently told Entertainment Weekly that while he and the rest of the staff of the House of Mouse are excited to see a fresh "Star Wars" film since 2005, the transnational viewers are less acquainted to the franchise.
Though there is a sense of doubt in the film's potential, the "Star Wars" franchise has proved its stability from its movies to its merchandises, which paints that "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is assumed to be one of the most promising upcoming films.
Set 30 years following the events "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of Jedi," "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" features a balanced line-up of old and fresh brave men and villains. The upcoming film stars Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Simon Pegg, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford, among others.
Mendes' "Spectre" will be released on Nov. 6 while Lawrence's "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" is set to hit theaters on Nov. 12. Meanwhile, Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Dec. 18.
