Brazilian MMA fighter Bethe Correia appears not content with losing to UFC Women's Welterweight champion Ronda Rousey in 34 seconds. She wants a rematch in 2016.
Yahoo Sports cites Bethe's Instagram post in which she not only sought another chance to face Ronda in the ring but also used the post to hit the 12-0 champ. Bethe reacted to Ronda's mentor, "Judo" Gene LaBell's statement on "The MMA Hour" last week that Ronda wanted to break up Bethe.
Quoting Ronda, LaBell told host Ariel Helwani that after beating Bethe in 34 seconds, Ronda felt "I wasn't through, I wanted to break something, an arm, a leg or neck."
Bethe accused Ronda of "posing to be a saint" is saying that she intended her opponent "to meet Jesus" which is euphemism for wanting to kill her ring foe. The loser insisted that she would never fight anyone with the intent of killing or breaking the neck of her opponent.
She points out that a neck injury is often a point of no return for an MMA fighter and it isn't something she would joke about "because wanting to kill someone is not caring about the pain their family would feel."
But Yahoo points out the first stone was cast by Bethe when she said before their encounter at UFC 90 that Ronda would not kill herself is Rousey losses. It was a veiled reference to Ronda's father who took his own life when Rousey was a child. It adds that Bethe just seems to be attempting to pick another paycheck.
However, speculation is that Ronda's next opponent could either be Cris "Cyborg" Justino or Miesha Tate, says ESPN.
